Virtual Studio Tour with Lucha Rodriguez, Women to Watch Artist 2020

Join us for a virtual studio tour with Lucha Rodriguez, Georgia Women to Watch Artist 2020

Atlanta based artist Lucha Rodriguez creates artwork that mimics intricate patterns found in the inner workings of the human body while exploring ideas of abstraction, replications and separation. She is predominantly known for her site-specific paper installations, but has also explored a variety of media including copper, textiles, paint, plexiglass and sound. Her series of knife drawings, made by shallow cuts into the surface of the paper, play with light and color and represent the union between precision and intuition: organic and geometric; simplicity and complexity.

Rodriguez was born in Caracas, Venezuela. she received her bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design at the Art Institute of Atlanta and her master of fine arts degree in printmaking at Savannah college of Art and Design. Her work is included in the High Museum of Art Atlanta’s modern and contemporary art collection in addition to various private institutions and collections.
